Tanya’s Score: Good-and-a-half*
Rated: PG-13
Starring: the guy from Trainspotting; the guy from Love Actually; Peter Dinklage
Plot: A number of varied events keep causing disruption during what should be a somber family funeral.
Tanya’s Verdict: How have I never seen this movie before now? My brother asked me the very same thing last month before passing it on to me and very nearly harassing me into watching it.
Death At A Funeral is one of those films where there are a bunch of characters, each with their own mini plot lines but all falling under the larger plot umbrella – namely attending a family funeral. The characters are neurotic and hilarious; the plot lines consist of dysfunctional family dynamics, unrequited love, hypochondria and much much more; and the entire she-bang is funny and entertaining. I even laughed out loud a couple of times.
Those Brits are a droll lot.
