Good then – Great now.

Rated: PG-13

Starring: a rhythmic Swayze, a nosey Grey, an underrated Orbach

Plot: While vacationing with her family at a Catskills resort, “Baby” Houseman (Jennifer Grey) falls in love with “bad boy” Johnny Castle (Patrick Swayze) – the resort’s dance instructor.

Tanya’s Verdict: Dirty Dancing proves that it doesn’t take all that much to put together an entertaining and endearing movie. There’s minimal character development, the storyline is a brief slice of life – yet it’s enough.

And there’s an inspiring, underlying message – about integrity, judgment and standing up for your principles. Dirty Dancing was good back in the 80s – it’s still pretty great now.
