Plot: A troubled teenager (Jake Gyllenhaal) survives a strange accident, has conversations with a man in a rabbit suit that only he can see and becomes interested in time travel.
Tanya’s Verdict: This movie cannot be classified – is it science fiction or drama or horror or comedy? The answer is yes – to all of the above. When people ask what Donnie Darko is about – the best answer to provide is simply: “Watch it.” Otherwise, any description – no matter how brief runs the risk of ruining part of the movie.
I can say this – each and every character has a story that runs deep; each and every scene is captivating; there is plenty of 80s music throughout; and you will think about this movie long after it ends.
Watch it.
