Tanya’s Score: Sh**
Rated: PG-13
Starring: Ron Burgundy; a Mean Girl; Remington Steele
Plot: Thanks to a fluke, two Icelandic singers (Will Ferrell; Rachel McAdams) get the chance of a lifetime; representing their country in a renowned singing competition.
Tanya’s Verdict: I should have taken one look at this mouthful of a movie title and known that it’s length was a lame attempt to distract from this awful dud of a film.
My kids and I eagerly put it on one night believing we’d be in for a mindless, dumb comedy. Well – we were two thirds correct. We had the movie on for a good 20 minutes before anything remotely funny occurred – and even then – it was only mildly amusing.
After another 15 minutes, the kids asked me to turn it off. That’s how awful this one was. It’s a boring, nothing special story-line, over-acted for supposed comedic effect but with no actual jokes or humour involved. Awful – just awful.
