Tanya’s Score: Good*
Rated: PG-13
Starring: It’s Britney, Bitch
Plot: A look at the rise, extremely public fall and the ongoing controversy surrounding Britney Spears, her career and current conservatorship by her father.
Tanya’s Verdict: You don’t have to be a major fan of Britney or her music to appreciate what this documentary has to offer. While it does provide a bit of background surrounding her meteoric rise as well as glimpses of her public troubles – it doesn’t go into too much detail.
For me, the most interesting part of this doc surrounds the current conservatorship Britney is under. Not only did I not realize this was happening (to her), I didn’t realize how devastating and abusive it can be when placed in the wrong hands.
In the end, I do have sympathy for this woman. It seems like every man in her life has attempted to control and use her for their own gains.
