Rated: PG-13
Starring: hunky Patrick Swayze, pixie-cute Demi Moore and the comic relief of Whoopi Goldberg
Plot: When a young man (Swayze) is killed in the prime of his life, his ghost contacts a medium (Goldberg) in order to help him communicate with his bereaved girlfriend (Moore) and help solve his murder.
Tanya’s Verdict: The movie is definitely dated – in terms of special effects, some heavy-handed dialogue and a couple of corny scenes (remember the pottery wheel!?) – but it’s still a cute film. And if you have fond memories of it – as I do – you won’t be disappointed. My girls liked it too. Plus, in case you’ve forgotten – this film was nominated for best movie at the 1991 Oscars – and Whoopi Goldberg took home the Oscar for supporting actress.
