Not the worst thing ever . . . but not too great either.

Rated: 14A

Starring: one tough mother, Halle Berry and no other celebrities to mention

Plot: A single mother and her son’s day at an amusement park becomes a nightmare when the boy is taken against his will. But what the kidnappers don’t realize is – they are messing with the wrong mother!

Tanya’s Verdict: I’ll admit – I was hesitant to see this film. It wasn’t reviewed by my favourite reviewer (always a red flag), I hadn’t even heard about it until my 13-year-old daughter begged me to accompany her to it and Rotten Tomatoes was not favourable. Still – I have dragged my kids to plenty of films they were lukewarm about so off we went. So it wasn’t as awful as I anticipated – sort of mediocre and forgettable with a few jump scares thrown in. There is an extended car chase scene that had some of my attention (and my girls gripping their seats) but my advice is to wait for this one to show up on cable.

*My daughter wants me to state for the record that she enjoyed it immensely.
