Tanya’s Score: Good*
Rated: PG
Starring: the girl/woman from Halloween; the girl from 13 Reasons Why; the woman from Hereditary; Sonny Crockett
Plot: When a rich and elderly author (Christopher Plummer) commits suicide, detectives investigate members of his eccentric family.
Tanya’s Verdict: This classic whodunit is spruced up with plenty of interesting plot twists as well as unique storytelling methods. I especially enjoyed it for its playfulness.
Something that did irk me about it though: there are plenty of great actors in this one – Toni Collette, Michael Shannon, LaKeith Stanfield, Jaeden Martell and Christopher Plummer – all of whom I found extremely underused in this film
Knives Out was a family movie outing for us – and it had us divided. One kid found it dull, the other two enjoyed it (though one of them was fidgeting throughout which has me thinking otherwise) and my husband said it was “okay”.
I liked it – which is all that really matters here.
One word of warning, despite the PG rating, there is plenty of curse words and some brief scenes of mild violence.
