For the most part – a dull and dreary disappointment.

Tanya’s Score: Okay and a bit*

Rated: PG

Starring: Ben Foster (if you don’t know the name, you’ll know the face)

Plot: A father and teenage daughter enjoy living off the grid in the wilds of a nature park in Oregon until they are discovered and their lives change forever.

Tanya’s Verdict: I had high hopes for this one. I figured it would be comparable to the compelling film Captain Fantastic (2016); instead it fell flat more like A Walk in the Woods (2015). It starts off a bit slow – and never really picks up in pace. It’s not the worst movie I’ve seen, but it’s not all that fascinating – and is even dull and dreary at times. Plus the ending is confusing and unclear (at least it was to me and my two girls).
