Tanya’s Score: Good*
Rated: PG-13
Starring: a diva, a stranger thing and the hottest man of the 80s (other than Bob Hoskins)
Plot: In 1963, a single eccentric mother (Cher) relocates and attempts to settle down in a small Massachussetts town with her daughters (Winona Ryder; Christina Ricci).
Tanya’s Verdict: I loved this one when I first saw it as a teenager. In my memory it was a deep and complex story filled with deep and complex characters. In reality, it’s a nice if somewhat hokey story with nice if somewhat hokey characters. But I’ll make any excuse to stare at 1990 Michael Schoeffling all day long.
