Ocean’s Eight: a light and summery treat

Tanya’s Score: Okay and-a-half*

Rated: 14A

Starring: Sandy, Annie, Catie and James Corden

Plot: When Debbie Ocean (Sandra Bullock) is released from prison, she immediately seeks out the best-of-the-best in female criminals in order to pull off a once-in-a-lifetime jewellery heist during NYC’s annual Met gala.

Tanya’s Verdict: I didn’t have high hopes for this one – and the movie’s beginning definitely lived up to my mediocre expectations. There was nothing compelling or entertaining about the plot set-up. However, once the film got going, it picked up the pace and included a few obvious yet somewhat interesting twists. All in all, Ocean’s Eight was a nice and light summery treat. Both my girls enjoyed it.
