Tanya’s Verdict: Good-and-a-half*
Rated: 14A
Starring: Carl Spackler; Ann Perkins
Plot: A wife and mother (Rashida Jones) wonders if her husband (Marlon Wayans) is bored with her – and her playboy father (Bill Murray) takes the lead in helping her get to the bottom of it.
Tanya’s Verdict: Some may be bored by this movie. It is quiet and contemplative and provides great insight after the fact. But not me. I enjoyed all facets of it: the chemistry between Murray and Jones in their father/daughter relationship; the mundanity of everyday marriage and motherhood caught on camera with aching realism; the believable and revealing conversations within this film.
Another masterpiece thanks to Ms. Sofia Coppola. Well done – I truly enjoyed watching it.
