Tanya’s Score: Good-and-a-half*
Rated: 14A
Plot: When Charlie Babbit’s (Tom Cruise) father dies, he discovers he has an older autistic brother (Dustin Hoffman) that he wants to get to know better.
Tanya’s Verdict: Wow. Still good. Though I’m uncertain how this one now registers in terms of political correctness.
In my memory, this was a comedy about an opportunistic man using his brother’s uncanny memory to hit it big at the casino. And while this does happen in a scene – it is by and far NOT the entire plot of the movie.
Funny, sad, heartwarming and entertaining – Rain Man is even better than I remembered.
