Funny, entertaining, poignant – a very good family movie.

Tanya’s Score: Good-and-a-half*

Rated: G

Starring: the funniest woman on the planet, a big galoot, Wonder Woman and Cookie

Plot: Two video game characters who happen to be best friends find a world of adventure when wifi comes to their arcade.

Tanya’s Verdict: Everything going on this movie, happens in real life. Friends will have different levels of need; friends will have different goals; friends will have varying views on life; friends can be apart, face different challenges, even live completely different lives and still remain friends. Kids may not get all this from the movie. To them, it’ll be a sometimes funny, sometimes scary, always interesting way to spend an hour-and-a-half. But to me, I saw the bigger picture. The poignant moments did not escape me. And the nod toward girl power was awesome and hilarious too.

If you have not seen this – gather your kids up and go. We all enjoyed it – possibly for different reasons – but that’s neither here nor there.
