Tanya’s Score: Okay-and-a-half*
Rated: 14A
Starring: Sting Ray; Annie Wilkes; Don Draper
Plot: When an American security guard (Paul Walter Hauser) notices a suspicious backpack at the 1996 Olympics that turns out to be a bomb, he is initially hailed a hero before the press turns the tables and vilifies him.
Tanya’s Verdict: This movie is okay. It’s one of those where I enjoyed it in the moment but afterward, looking back, I realize there really wasn’t all that much to it. I mean it’s based on a true story – and I feel bad for the guy – but turning it into a 2 hour movie is a bit of a stretch. My kids were bored.
That said – Kathy Bates is great as Jewell’s aggrieved mother.
