Plot: The heartbreaking true story of American born Mexican singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez, her rise to fame in the 1990s and her tragic death.
Tanya’s Verdict: This is one movie I cannot accurately gauge because for some reason I love it so much. Every time I watch it, I hope the outcome will be different and that Selena will pull through and top her career as most other musicians eventually do – by being a judge on The Voice. But nope.
JLo is so believable as the guileless and good-hearted Selena – I can’t help but watch the entire movie with a tear in my eye and a catch in my throat. Life is unfair.
