Rated: 14A
Starring: a puffy and disappointing Amy Schumer, a puffy and disappointing Goldie Hawn
Plot: Super paranoid mother (Hawn) and extremely laid-back daughter (Schumer) travel to Ecuador together and end up involved in one caper after another.
Tanya’s Verdict: You’d think that putting two comedic gems together like Schumer and Hawn, nothing more would be required to make a half-decent comedy. For instance, who needs a good (or even plausible) storyline, or some snappy and funny dialogue when you have these two together on film. But unfortunately, more is required from both comedians as well as the team that put together this disappointing flop. That said, the brief appearance of Ike Barinholtz as Schumer’s brother as well as a scene involving the extraction of a tape worm caused me to smile . . . maybe even giggle a bit. But that’s where the hilarity (and I’m over-reaching here) stops.
