Still enjoyable despite some wooden acting . . .

Rated: PG-13

Starring: the thespian Keanu Reeves, the damsel-in-distress Sandra Bullock

Plot: A young cop (Reeves) showcases his problem-solving magic when a lunatic (Dennis Hopper) wires a city bus with a bomb that will detonate if the bus slows its speed below 50 mph.

Tanya’s Verdict: Boy – I forgot how wooden and robotic Keanu Reeves can be when delivering his lines of dialogue. Nevertheless, Speed is an action-packed flick that is still enjoyable more than 20 years later. The movie combines tense moments and virtually impossible sequences of action with a light dusting of romance and bits of hilarity (some deliberate, some not so) to make a pretty good movie perfect for family viewing.
