A slow-burn of creepy that ultimately ended with frustration and boredom.

Tanya’s Score: Okay*

Rated: 14A

Starring: vaguely familiar Brits and an Aussie mistress

Plot: In rural England during the 1930s, a young doctor inserts himself with a family living in a manor where strange, tragic happenings continue to occur.

Tanya’s Verdict: This movie had strong potential from the get-go. It provided a slow-burn of creepiness that I was hoping would pay off in the end. But for me anyway (as well as my two girls – one who fell asleep and the other who grumbled throughout), there wasn’t any pay off. In the end, there were more questions than answers – which is sometimes okay – but in this case was simply frustrating.
