Campy, silly, kind of dull

Tanya’s Score: Okay*

Rated: 14A

Starring: Liev “no Gregory Peck” Schreiber, Julia “no Lee Remick” Stiles, Rosemary

Plot: An American ambassador (Schreiber) living in Europe comes to the disturbing realization that his young son Damian may actually be Satan.

Tanya’s Verdict: This re-make of the original 1976 The Omen just isn’t all that great. I would say it might be a good one for the kids to watch – it has a simple plot, it has some silly gore – yet both my girls opted to go to bed early rather than stay up to watch the film finished.

The acting was over-the-top and the scares were campy – the result was a tiresome and dull, nothing-special film. I plan on re-watching the original to see if it holds up. I’ll keep you posted.
