Not a good movie.

Tanya’s Score: Sh**

Rated: PG

Starring: Yick from Degrassi fame; a bunch of other Canucks

Plot: When a young boy loses all his hair, two ghosts appear and provide him with a recipe to solve his dilemma.

Tanya’s Verdict: I remember this movie from the early days of cable tv. While only snippets had remained memorable to me, I know my brother and I had watched it but couldn’t quite put my finger on whether we actually had enjoyed it. Fast forward more than 30 years later – and my children and I watched it the other night.

The Peanut Butter Solution is a truly ridiculous film. From the stilted acting to the pathetic plot to the extremely budgeted production – it is just not a good movie. There are so many things within this film that just don’t make a lick of sense – from the way characters behave to the various plot points. I certainly don’t mind ridiculous – especially if it works – but in this instance – it does not. That said, there were several scenes where the four of us laughed uproariously – although I’m not certain hilarity was intended.
