Tanya’s Score: Okay-and-a-half*
Rated: TV-MA
Starring: that girl from Girls; that guy from Wings
Plot: A former musical prodigy (Allison Williams) befriends her former academy’s current star pupil (Logan Browning) for strange and foreboding reasons.
Tanya’s Verdict: This Netflix original movie is strange. Several times throughout, I’m sure I muttered WTF out loud. But neither of these reasons is why I wasn’t all that crazy about it.
I found it disjointed. And while the plot is completely bizarre and unbelievable (again – plenty of good movies have bizarre and unbelievable plots), the plot expects the audience to make plenty of large and virtually nonsensical leaps that don’t add up.
That said, the movie is somewhat interesting – I’ll admit I was curious as to how it would end. I will even go so far as to hazard the guess that plenty of horror fans out there may even like it. Especially, teen horror fans. Be forewarned though: there is one sexually graphic scene – it was a scene that had me scratching my head – not sure why it was included or even necessary.
