Tanya’s Score: Good-and-a-half*
Rated: 14A
Starring: Real people playing slightly fictionalized versions of themselves
Plot: After suffering a near fatal head injury, a young cowboy (Brady Jandreau) must come to terms with his limitations and make peace with them.
Tanya’s Verdict: This is a sparse and desolate film – it has a simple plot, few characters, little dialogue and forlorn music. But somehow it is huge in its emotional power.
The character of Brady comes through loud and clear – maybe in part because he is the very real man-child he is portraying on screen. He is hauntingly sympathetic in this role – maybe because this role is his reality.
This is a movie that will stay with you after you finish watching it. Brady is a character you will think about even when the film is over.
