Plot: A young woman struggling with anorexia (Collins) is sent to an unorthodox doctor (Reeves) in the hopes that his treatment will help her. As she and her desperate family soon learn, whether she can be helped or not is all up to her.
Tanya’s Verdict: This Netflix original was a conversation starter on eating disorders between me and my daughters. It does have some swearing in it as well as some mild sex talk (the word “orgasm” is mentioned). My daughters both liked the movie – I found it a bit bland and lacking – although viewers who have experience with eating disorders may definitely have a stronger reaction. To me it was reminiscent of the 2013 movie Gimme Shelter – which also had a safe and milquetoast plot.
