Tanya’s Score: Good*
Rated: 14A
Starring: a bunch of Spaniards
Plot: When a teenager (Sandra Escacena) holds a seance with her friends, she inadvertently attracts an evil spirit.
Tanya’s Verdict: It’s not often that I’m pleasantly surprised by a horror film – especially a horror film I found on Netflix. But here you go. This one had a few scenes that even made me flinch (in a good way).
The storyline may not be original – but the creepy music and well-paced scenes had me hooked from beginning to end. And I have to give it to this young actress – Sandra Escacena – she knows how to hold her own with her commanding presence.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: The Spanish really know their way around a good horror movie.
