Starring: Helen Mirren and a bunch of vaguely recognizable Aussies
Plot: Loosely based on fact, Mirren portrays Sarah Winchester – the eccentric heiress to a firearm fortune that is haunted by the victims felled by her family’s rifle. As a result, she hopes to appease the tormented souls by building rooms on to her growing mansion for them to come to terms with their untimely deaths and find peace.
Tanya’s Verdict: Plenty of jump scares, haunting music and even a few unforeseen twists. But once the movie was over, I realized it was just okay. Not bad – but not that great either.
