Heart-warming, heavy-handed and a pretty good movie.

Rated: PG

Starring: maternal Julia Roberts, paternal Owen Wilson, prosthetically-inclined Jacob Tremblay

Plot: Based on the best-selling kid’s book of the same name, Wonder tells the story of Auggie Pullman (Tremblay) who has facial deformities as he navigates through fifth grade.

Tanya’s Verdict: I won’t deny it – it’s an emotionally, feel-good story that’s clearly designed to pull at our heart strings. Even so – I still enjoyed it and laud its heavy-handed directive: the extraordinary is ordinary and vice versa. A great movie for families to watch together that offers up an inspirational and heartwarming message. The book is even better.
