Tanya’s Score: Good*
Rated: PG
Starring: nobody famous; Will Smith
Plot: A good-hearted street urchin (Mena Massoud) finds a magic lamp as well as true love while trying to outsmart an evil royal vizier (Marwan Kenzari).
Tanya’s Verdict: This live-action remake of the 1992 animated version is fine. It is action-packed, has some poignant moments, some humorous scenes – but it’s long. It also has a fair share of scenes that sort of drag.
A predictable, by-the-book family movie with a bit of an Indiana Jones vibe, Aladdin is a good film. It just isn’t anything all that special or memorable.
