Tanya’s Score: Good*
Rated: PG
Starring: Spider-Man; Andy Dwyer; Elaine Benes
Plot: Elf brothers Barley (Chris Pratt) and Ian (Tom Holland) set out on a quest to spend one more day with their deceased father.
Tanya’s Verdict: I will admit that I was annoyed at the start of this movie by the obvious life lessons it was foisting on all us unsuspecting (and also suspecting) viewers. Broad lessons such as: old ways are better than new ways; history is important; family is also important; society is lazy.
Then, the plot turns into a list of step-by-step adventures in order to complete the final and most important quest.
BUT – somewhere in the middle of this movie I became invested – in the characters and in the outcome. I actually kind of liked it even. Although it is definitely no Finding Nemo.
*Four score descriptions: Sh**; Okay; Good; Great
I liked it too but why are there so many kid’s movies about a dead parent/ relative!
You’re right! Almost every single one – LOL!
