Tanya’s Score: Good*
Rated: PG
Starring: a bunch of young hunks you do NOT want to look up currently
Plot: In the 1950s, a young man (Brendan Fraser) from a working class family receives a football scholarship to finish his senior year at a prestigious boarding school but he must conceal the fact that he’s Jewish.
Tanya’s Verdict: Another blast from my past, I wanted to share this movie with my daughter. My husband warned me that it would be cheesy and over the top – and maybe it was at times. A few of the football scenes were funny, some of the music was a bit much and the plot is pretty cut and dried in terms of right and wrong. So not exactly realistic. But a fine movie to watch with your teenager about a time before either of you was even born. And she liked it too!
