A unique and interesting twist on Greek mythology.

Tanya’s Score: Good*

Rated: 14A

Starring: French Canadians

Plot: Loosely based on Greek mythology, a family of refugees living in Montreal struggle to deal with tragedy.

Tanya’s Verdict: I don’t know much about the Greek tragedy this film is based upon – so I watched it without any expectations. And I found it to be a unique storyline comprised of rich and interesting characters. Especially where main character Antigone is concerned. Nahéma Ricci is the young and bright-eyed actress portraying the teenaged heroine of this film. And in my opinion – she is riveting to watch and carried this movie along.

Antigone is an interesting story that unfolded in ways I didn’t anticipate – but even so – I was a bit disappointed by the way it ended.

This movie would have been perfect if it wasn’t for the ending.
