Different than I expected.

Tanya’s Score: Good*

Rated: PG

Starring: Crash Davis; Darth Vader; Henry Hill

Plot: When an Iowa farmer (Kevin Costner) hears a mysterious voice, he decides to follow his instinct and do what it says – leading his family’s life in a direction that no one can foresee.

Tanya’s Verdict: When this movie popped up on my Netflix account, I knew I had to watch it – as despite all my good intentions, I’d never before seen this Oscar nominated movie.

It’s an interesting film that has more to do with following your heart and living a life of regret – as opposed to baseball. The plot can be a bit problematic if you look at it too closely – so I suggest watching it for what it strives to be: a slightly sentimental movie about an idealistic and hopeful individual.

This one may not be a great choice for family movie night. Considering my kids don’t have all that much experience living a life of regret and/or following their instincts – they just couldn’t relate.
