Pretty good for a documentary – and I’m willing to bet amazing in person.

Tanya’s Score: Good-and-a-half*

Rated: PG

Starring: a man who is a lot of things but is reluctant to be classified

Plot: This documentary focusses on natural storyteller and sometimes magician Derek DelGaudio and his one-man-show where he dissects the almost impossible subject of “Who am I?”

Tanya’s Verdict: This documentary was an interesting one. DelGaudio stands in front of an audience for 90 minutes examining how we label ourselves and others, shedding light on how and why we do this and punctuating the show with spurts of magic and sleight of hand here and there. The journey of discovery and self-discovery throughout is probably the most magical part of the performance. I truly wish I could see this show in person as I have no doubt in my mind that it would be astounding.

*Four score descriptions: Sh**; Okay; Good; Great
