Funny at first – before hitting a brick wall.

Tanya’s Score: Okay-and-a-half*

Rated: 14A

Starring: Aileen Wuornos, Ben Stone, Saul Goodman, Gollum

Plot: A journalist (Seth Rogen) reconnects with his childhood crush (Charlize Theron) and becomes her speech writer as she makes a run for the US presidency.

Tanya’s Verdict: I really liked this movie – in the beginning.

At first it was funny (in both smart and silly ways). It had this satirical/anti #metoo vibe at the start which I found great. But then suddenly the movie hit a brick wall and lost its mojo. The plot turned sappy and predictable and worst of all, the comedy lagged.

One more nit-pick: I didn’t think Theron and Rogen had much chemistry together.
