Tanya’s Score: Good*
Rated: 14A
Starring: Funny Games couple; Waves kid
Plot: People are forced to confront their idealized senses of reality when a teen all-star in their midst (Kelvin Harrison Jr.) begins to reveal who he truly is.
Tanya’s Verdict: Luce is a movie that is small on the outside and immense on the inside. What you see on the screen is only scratching the surface plot-wise. There is so much going on, it’s hard to believe it comes packaged in a film less than 2 hours long.
Luce touches on racism, stereotypes, family, manipulation and trust. The story unfolds with compassion for every single character. That isn’t an easy feat – maybe that’s why I liked this movie.
