Gradual, circular and always in motion . . . a pretty good movie.

Tanya’s Score: Good-and-a-half*

Rated: 14A

Starring: Randall Pearson; A boy erased

Plot: A Florida family struggles to remain cohesive in the aftermath of a tragic incident.

Tanya’s Verdict: The plot of this movie isn’t spectacular – it’s the way this movie is filmed  and unfolds that I found the most intriguing and interesting to watch. It seems the camera is always in motion – most often in complete circles – I’m sure there’s meaning behind this.

Then there’s the way the story is told – gradually – with interesting details released here and there – always adding to the bigger picture.

About three-quarters into the movie, I felt a definite shift as I’m sure the director intended. And at first, I wasn’t happy with the change – I felt that it disrupted the forward momentum of the film. But then, the movie slowly built back up for me – coming full circle, if you will.
