I quite liked it.

Tanya’s Score: Good*

Rated: 14A

Starring: the former Ms. Cruise; the former Ms. Baumbach; the current Mr. Jack Black

Plot: When a woman and her son (Nicole Kidman; Zane Pais) visit her sister (Jennifer Jason Leigh) prior to her hastily planned wedding, family drama ensues.

Tanya’s Verdict: The thing I really like about Noah Baumbach films is that often the plot is nothing out of the ordinary. In actuality, the plot is the drama that unfolds from everyday situations. Now while I like that sort of thing, I also realize that’s not for everybody.

In this particular film, nothing crazy occurs; there is no major reveal. But the characters bicker and backstab and have conversations that may make you (as the audience) feel like you are eavesdropping. I quite enjoy that kind of thing.

*Four score descriptions: Sh**; Okay; Good; Great
