A bit dated . . . but not bad.

Tanya’s Score: Okay-and-a-half*

Rated: 14A

Starring: Jo Bennett, Elf’s dad, Matthew Cuthbert

Plot: A famous writer (James Caan) is rescued from a car crash and nursed back to health by his #1 fan (Kathy Bates) who also happens to be a homicidal maniac.

Tanya’s Verdict: As is typical of movies from this particular time frame, the plot is slow to unwind and suspense builds at a gradual pace. Even so, this is a good one for the family – not a lot of gore.

Misery may be a tad dated, but we still enjoyed it.

*Four score descriptions: Sh**; Okay; Good; Great
