An okay movie with a great message.

Tanya’s Score: Okay-and-a-half*

Rated: PG

Starring: a bunch of ocean lovers

Plot: A documentary focusing on what people must do in order to save the ocean life we have come to rely upon.

Tanya’s Verdict: This movie means well and its message is an important one. Sea Of Life is an impressive first feature-length film for writer/director/narrator Julia Barnes – it is professional and slick and makes use of some interesting interviews and spectacular shots. But after a while, her voice becomes grating. And though the movie imparts some pretty harsh truths about what the human race is doing to nature and what we need to do to repair the problem, there is just nothing all that ground-breaking or especially interesting in the way it unfolds or is showcased.
