Plot: Documentary focussing on women’s rights attorney Gloria Allred and her landmark cases fighting sexism and human rights’ issues.
Tanya’s Verdict: This is one of those movies that could have easily passed me by – I never heard Gloria Allred’s name before and this documentary was nowhere on my radar. Then someone happened to mention it to me – and it sounded interesting.
And it was.
Watching Gloria in action – on tv, in taped footage, doing the talk show circuit – you can easily dismiss her as a hard core feminist who runs her mouth and makes problems for herself – and this is nothing she hasn’t heard before. But what she has done for us – for women, for people otherwise swept to the sidelines, for feminism, for society as a whole – is simply amazing.
An interesting and entertaining doc – and more importantly: an interesting and entertaining woman.
