I needed a bit of guidance regarding who was good and who was bad and what was sometimes going on – but I still liked it.

Tanya’s Score: Good*

Rated: 14A

Starring: Fenster; Brand; Catherine Keener

Plot: Drug cartels traffic terrorists across the US-Mexican border and FBI agents are on the case.

Tanya’s Verdict: I have to admit – this is a pretty good sequel – because it doesn’t feel like a sequel. Interesting characters from the original Sicario (2015) (Matt Graver played by Josh Brolin and Alejandro played by Benicio Del Toro) are back although disappointingly, not Emily Blunt’s Kate Macer.

You don’t need to have watched Sicario (2015) to watch and enjoy this one. The story is a new one – only the characters have carried over.

There is lots of action and plotting and mind games – which always gets a tad confusing for me. Luckily, my husband talked me through what I got muddled on without too much shushing.

I think I liked the first Sicario better as a whole – but this one is pretty good in its own right.
