20 years after the fact, and still a pretty darned good film.

Tanya’s Score: Good-and-a-half*

Rated: 14A

Starring: Forrest Gump, Lieutenant Dan, Captain Klenzendorf

Plot: Prison guards in 1935 Louisiana deal with death row inmates and come face to face with a miracle.

Tanya’s Verdict: Boy this movie is good. I saw it in the theatre going on 20 years ago – and I will admit – I was a tad nervous to re-watch it. It had some pretty big britches to fill – and I’m happy to report it didn’t disappoint.

The story is compelling (if not a bit hokey here and there) and the acting is well-done – making the nearly three hour running time not seem so long.

All in all – a pretty darned good movie – not always a given when we’re talking about a Stephen King adaptation.
