Visually beautiful, but weird to the point of pretentious.

Tanya’s Score: Okay*

Rated: 14A

Starring: The Great; Johnny Utah

Plot: A young and naive teenager (Elle Fanning) arrives in LA with aspirations of becoming a model and the people she meets appear helpful at first but soon reveal sinister intentions.

Tanya’s Verdict: There is no question – this film is beautiful to look at. Most scenes are aesthetically pleasing and visually gorgeous. But I found many (if not most) of the characters to be over the top and the plot to be symbolic and metaphorical to the point of distraction. In the end, the entire film was too weird for me, bordering on pretentious.
