It still holds up . . . and how.

Tanya’s Score: Great*

Rated: 14A

Starring: a couple of creepy guys; a couple of creeps; Jodie Foster

Plot: In order to catch a serial killer (Ted Levine) preying on young women, an FBI cadet (Jodie Foster) must rely on the help of an incarcerated, extremely dangerous, cannibalistic serial killer (Anthony Hopkins).

Tanya’s Verdict: I first watched this almost 30 years ago and I really liked it then. It’s a riveting movie with an edge-of-your-seat plot, fascinating characters and strong acting. Only re-watching it now, do I realize how truly genius it is.

The Silence of the Lambs strings together two separate yet hopelessly intertwined plot lines while also constantly reminding viewers what Clarice Starling is up against in terms of her male-dominated field.

Despite the fact that many moments within this film have been mocked and imitated over the years, they still make for a sometimes scary, mostly tense thriller. This one holds up pretty good in my opinion.

*Four score descriptions: Sh**; Okay; Good; Great
