A very good story – which made for a pretty good movie.

Tanya’s Score: Good*

Rated: PG

Starring: Borat; the Danish Girl; the BFG

Plot: Based on the true court case of seven individuals accused of instigating riots during the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago.

Tanya’s Verdict: The story behind this film is an interesting one – and one that I didn’t know at all until having watched this movie. It focusses on seven (sometimes eight) individuals and how their freedom of speech and thought and freewill got them in hot water with authorities.

I’ll give credit where credit is due – the organization of this film is what keeps it moving, keeps it interesting and keeps it from dragging. It’s funny at times (thanks to Sacha Baron Cohen’s apparently spot-on portrayal of Abbie Hoffman), frustrating at times (all I’m gonna say here is Frank Langella’s Judge Hoffman is hate-inducing) and kinda dull throughout here and there.

But still – definitely worth watching.
