Feels like a true story.

Tanya’s Score: Good-and-a-half*

Rated: 14A

Starring: Mrs. Jonas

Plot: An ambitious Indian man (Adarsh Gourav) of a low caste finagles a position as a driver for a wealthy family and tries to continue his rise to the top.

Tanya’s Verdict: Despite this Netflix film feeling like a true story, it is based on a fictional novel. I enjoyed watching it because I found it entirely unpredictable and each turn of the plot made the movie more and more compelling to me. Plus, the main actor is sympathetic and does well in his role.

I found the storyline interesting because I really don’t know all that much about life in India. My one complaint was that after it ended, I felt a little bit let down in the way it wrapped up. I’m willing to bet the book is a whole lot better.
