This movie is so much more and so much better than what I thought I was going to get.

Tanya’s Score: Good-and-a-half*

Rated: TV-MA

Starring: Cosette; Stranger girl; Saul’s girl

Plot: A couple (Amanda Seyfried; James Norton) moves to the country and experiences a dark and sinister turn in their marriage.

Tanya’s Verdict: This movie is pretty good – in fact there are only a couple of reasons I’m not rating it as “great”. I found the title very blah and forgettable – and also – I found the ending a swift chop when the audience clearly deserved much much more.

Still – this movie is dark and creepy – but by no means a horror. I turned it on thinking I would be getting a horror movie – but what I ended up getting was so much better. A slow-to-reveal, dark movie that takes you down a path you don’t foresee from beginning to end.

Days later, and I was still thinking about this one. It’s always a good sign when a movie is knocking around in my brain three days later.

*Four score descriptions: Sh**; Okay; Good; Great
