Started off okay but quickly went downhill.

Tanya’s Score: Sh**-and-a-half*

Rated: 14A

Starring: Grimace (if he were a human man)

Plot: A young woman (Caren Pistorius) inadvertently becomes the target of a rage-fuelled lunatic (Russell Crowe) she encounters while driving.

Tanya’s Verdict: If a movie fudges reality in order to be entertaining, then I’m willing to be forgiving. However, I can only suspend my belief so far.

This movie had a decent premise (somewhere between Unlawful Entry (1992) and Falling Down (1993)) that could have made for an edge-of-your-seat thriller. But instead it took a somewhat semi-believable situation and twisted it into 90 minutes of complete absurdity that just became more and more ridiculous.

The way specific characters were behaving – namely the targeted woman, staff at a school under lockdown and the police – were so unrealistic that I was unable to get past it making it difficult for me to enjoy this movie – even as an exaggerated piece of entertainment.

*Four score descriptions: Sh**; Okay; Good; Great
