Christmas is soon upon us – and if you’re anything like me – then you are completely stressed out and counting down the days until December 26th. Nothing gets my blood boiling like Christmas carols in November.

For any of you out there looking for some last minute quirky little gifts for co-workers, acquaintances, your Secret Santa gift exchange, I’ve taken the liberty of compiling this list of inexpensive, yet interesting possibilities.

For whatever reason, these particular items caught my eye and I figured I may as well share them. Here are 17 quirky, and interesting Christmas gift ideas that won’t break the bank.

#1 This one has my stamp of approval

Send in a pic of the selected gift receiver, and have it turned into a custom rubber stamp. This awesome gift idea was emailed to me a while back (Thanks Kira!) and I’ve been holding on to it – saving it for someone special.

#2 Put your foot in it

Socks – the perfect gift – so long as a) the person you are buying for has feet. You may think I’m joking but I’m not. Years ago, a co-worker told me that one of his relatives had hand-knit woolen socks for his father for Christmas. The only problem was, his father had prosthetic legs. b) the person you are buying for actually wears socks. Not everyone does.

Personally, I value my sock collection almost as much as my t-shirt collection. There are some awesome ones out there – with hilarious sayings on them, with images that may capture the very essence of your soul (or sole). And thanks to Etsy, you can now even personalize these feet snugglers for your intended recipient.

#3 Ugly Christmas Sweater – Downsized

While the ugly Christmas sweater is all the rage – you can always go for the cheaper, yet just as ugly, option. The ugly Christmas hat. And this is even better because there is less worry about messing up the size – unless the person you are buying for happens to have a larger than average cranium.

#4 80s kitsch and sarcasm rolled into one

Most of us have heard about the Magic 8 Ball. You ask it a yes/no question, give it a shake and then wait for the ball to deliver it’s magical answer. Well, this particular gift idea is perfect for us jaded grown-ups – the Sarcastic 9 Ball. Simply ask your question, give it a shake and then await the sardonic reply.

#5 Office Supplies

If you want to help one of your co-workers out in classing their joint up a bit, consider a suede mouse pad. Or if you are going for a creeped-out laugh, then consider the Nicolas Cage mouse pad. Its eyes follow you everywhere.

#6 Functional Meet-Cutes

Cable bites. Have you heard of these? They are cute little critters that latch onto and decorate phone-charging cords.

#7 The mini-mini fridge

This gimmicky gadget made me laugh. It’s the world’s teeniest, tiniest fridge. It can only hold one single can of pop. Perfect for the soda drinker in your office who is sick and tired of trudging to the communal fridge for their drink of choice.

#8 Scratchers

Scratch-off posters are an actual, real-live thing. Who knew? You can buy one with 100 iconic movies listed, or books, or travel destinations or even a bucket list of things to accomplish. Once the receiver has watched the movie, read the book, travelled to the specific destination or accomplished the bucket list item – they scratch it off the poster to reveal a surprise image underneath.

#9 Bag the Dish

For the individual in your office who always has a bowl of candy on their desk – this was an interesting gift idea that really caught my eye. A glass candy dish shaped like an open ziplock bag.

#10 Pop go the Days

Calendars may be one of the most unoriginal holiday gift ideas ever. Unless it’s a bubble wrap calendar. When the day’s over, simply pop the bubble overtop and call it a day.

#11 A Baker’s Dozen

For the cookie lover as well as baker – this cookie mould is spoon-shaped. What could be better than eating your ice cream with a spoon-shaped cookie that you get to polish off after the ice cream is gone!

#12 Alcohol and the great outdoors

For the wine lover who enjoys to imbibe outside – these wine glass stems are stakes meant to be pushed into the lawn or sand or even snow. Enjoy your wine outdoors and no need to ensure there’s a table nearby!

#13 Colour me Impressed

The adult colouring book fad may have already had its day in the sun – but this particular gift idea still made me smile. For the morbid yet quirky person in your life – consider a colouring book of serial killers. Or a colouring book of the current Royal family. Just as equally morbid.

#14 Phoney Baloney

Do you know someone who loves stirring the pot and then getting the hell out of dodge? If so – then this is the perfect gift: a pad of fake parking tickets. Meant to be kept in a glove box – awaiting the next self-centred a-hole who parks horrendously nearby.

#15 Work-Out Valuables

This clever invention is a great gift for the avid gym goer in your life. It’s a water bottle that also holds your iPhone. No worries about lugging both around from machine to machine. Not that this is anything I would need – I don’t go to the gym – nor do I own a phone.

#16 All Chewed Up

I’m a gum chewer. Though not necessarily a gum-saver. However, this little contraption would probably make me re-think that fact. These ceramic gum-savers are the perfect spot to park your chewed-up wad for the time being – while you eat lunch or brush your teeth – and then want to continue the chew.

#17 Spice it up

You know that guy at your office who is always requesting hot sauce wherever he goes? For his eggs, his soup, his sandwich, his coffee? This gift may be perfect – a mini-bottle of hot sauce on a key chain.
