Gross, absurd and quite hilarious.

Tanya’s Score: Good-and-a-half*

Rated: R

Starring: Ali G

Plot: This movie sequel follows Borat – a fictional, bumbling reporter hailing from Kazakhstan – and his real-life American adventures.

Tanya’s Verdict: Maybe I happened to watch this silly movie right when I needed it . . . because despite it’s gross-out and often ridiculous plot points – I thought it was hilarious. Sacha Baron Cohen is great as Borat – and using this absurd alter ego is able to tease out the inner racism, sexism and all-around moronic beliefs of every unsuspecting fool in his path.

Typically, I find movies attempting to mix real-life antics with fictional storylines tend to fall flat; case in point: Impractical Jokers: The Movie. But I enjoyed the original Borat movie from 14 years ago and I found this one just as equally enjoyable.

Be forewarned though – some scenes (one in particular) are so outrageously disgusting that if you’re anything like me, you’ll be snorting Diet Coke out through your nose,
